This simple act of leaving a tribute on the 9/11 Memorial speaks to the thoughtfulness of our visitors whose displays of creativity help us all to remember.

Although the public is not able to visit the site during this temporary closure, this Earth Day we look to celebrate the 9/11 Memorial plaza as one of the most sustainable plazas ever constructed, designed to conserve energy, water, and other resources.

Although the 9/11 Memorial & Museum is temporarily closed, we are still recruiting for volunteer positions, and we celebrate the 312 volunteers who play a crucial role in fulfilling our mission during the annual National Volunteer Week.

In remembrance of the victims, and to honor the connection forged between first responders in Oklahoma City and following 9/11, the New York Knicks’ annual first responder night on March 6 featured a special on-court exchange between the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.
