Recovered $2 Bill Symbol of Marriage

Today, a white rose was placed at the 9/11 Memorial in honor of Robert Gschaar’s birthday. He would have been 70 years old.

Museum Installation Featured Clue on Jeopardy!

The 9/11 Memorial and Museum was a featured Jeopardy! clue during its Monday, March 7 episode. Part of the category "Monuments," the clue included a video of game show host Alex Trebek at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

Artist Spencer Finch’s installation “Trying to Remember the Color of the Sky on That September Morning” is seen in Memorial Hall. The installation features the Virgil quote “No day shall erase you from the memory of time.” The plaque is surrounded by 2,983 watercolor squares, each their own shade of blue.

Museum Reaches 5 Million Visitors Milestone

In less than two years in operation, the 9/11 Memorial Museum has welcomed more than five million visitors.

Visitors descend to bedrock at the Museum. To their right is the Survivors’ Staircase. To the left is artist Spencer Finch’s installation, “Trying to Remember the Color of the Sky on That September Morning.”

Remembering FDNY Hero Battalion Chief Orio J. Palmer

Beyond his uncommon odd first name, Battalion 7 Deputy Chief Orio Joseph Palmer was well known in the New York City Fire Department for his dedication and his athletic endeavors. Today, a white rose was placed in his name on the 9/11 Memorial, marking what would have been his 60th birthday.

Jersey City Honors Fallen 9/11 Hero as Part of Women’s History Month

Ceremony Marks 23 Years Since WTC Bombing

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum today held a ceremony in commemoration of the 23rd anniversary of the first attack on the World Trade Center that killed six people and injured more than 1,000.
