Matters of the H.E.A.R.T., a Return to Haiti
A 9/11 nonprofit relief group is returning to Haiti.
In a few days, H.E.A.R.T. 9/11 will travel back to the island to finish "50 homes in five days," said Bill Keegan, the president of H.E.A.R.T. 9/11, the disaster relief group. He told The MEMO that a team will complete a "pod of 400 homes" for a large amputee population.
The team will leave for Haiti on Sunday, returning April 9, Keegan said.
Last month, a 12-member H.E.A.R.T. team built a health clinic for the Love A Child Orphanage. The clinic will provide medical services to disabled victims, many of whom are amputees, and their families, officials said.
