Brooklyn Nets Pay Emotional Visit to 9/11 Memorial & Museum
The Brooklyn Nets paid an emotional visit to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum on Friday on a team-building trip.
The 20 players, their coaches and staff toured through the special exhibition “Comeback Season: Sports After 9/11,” which explores the healing power of sports after the 9/11 attacks.
Since many of the players were young children at the time of the attacks, Head Coach Kenny Atkinson predicted that the visit to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum was bound to be a moving lesson.
“Some of these guys are so young, they probably don’t remember it like older guys,” Atkinson said. “We play in the city of New York, we work here, we live here, so for us to get an understanding of the history, what went on from a New York perspective, a United States of America perspective, global perspective, it affected all of us.”
